Make your own Background with Pink Paislee stamps!

Posted on April 30, 2009

Hi everyone!

I hope you are ready to be real creative because we’re going to play with stamps, acrylics and embossing powder! :)

This is a very simple technique I’m going to show you today, using your favorite Pink Paislee stamps.

All you need is a heat gun, clear or white embossing powders, Versamark ink, white cardstock, acrylic paints, a brush and your favorite PINK PAISLEE stamps!

Grab your Versamark ink and your stamp. Put some Versamark on your stamp and stamp on the white cardstock.

Add some white embossing powder (or clear if you work on a white surface).

Put the excess ink back into the jar.

Use your heat gun to emboss the powder.

Grab your acrylics and paint over the embossed imprint : you’ll see that the acrylic paint doesn’t get stuck to the powder as it works like a resisting surface !

Using a baby wipe, get the excess paint off.

and here’s my final layout, using the background I just made! :)

Don’t you like it?! You can easily make ANY background as the possibilities are endless, it all depends on the stamps and the colors of your acrylic paints :D

I hope this will inspire you!

love,

Céline

Tasty Tuesday

Posted on April 28, 2009

How about a cuppa !!

Hi everyone I am back and excited to be doing a Tasty Tuesday and I just loved creating this Window Box Frame with my favorite drink called “Tea for Two” and of course yummy cupcakes, who doesn’t like a cupcake lol !!

To create the teapot I hand drew the teapot onto paper for a template and then cut it out, I then placed the teapot pieces onto chipboard and again drew around the pieces and cut them out.  I  used the gorgeous Fascinating Collection of pattern papers to create the different colored pieces for the teapot, I also used Fascinating Brads, Rub-ons, chipboard Elements, Chipboard Alphas and the Sticker Book to create the other elements for this project.

To create the cute little cupcakes I used a foam ball which I cut in half and then using a heart punch I punched out several of the hearts and turned them up side down and pinned them onto the top of the foam ball with a sequin and then I added more to create icing, and I also added a few colored pins to finish off.  I really hope you like this little project of mine, as I really enjoyed creating it, it now sits in my kitchen, and when I look at it I can’t help but smile.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Manic Monday - Stamp Your Backgrounds

Posted on April 27, 2009

Today’s Manic Monday is all about stampin’.  If you are familiar with the Pink Paislee stamps then you certainly know how much fun it is to play with them. :) I love to use my stamps to make cards, so that’s exactly what I’ve done this time around.  Cards are a simpler form of scrapbooking for me and don’t require all the mess and I use up lots of left over precious pieces of paper.

I wanted to customize some of my patterned papers for these cards and I was able to do that with my stamps. I coordinated my papers, inks and embossing powders to create a subtle look, yet a noticeable one. I love the raised effect and still such a soft feel. So pretty.

On this card I used the circle graphic from the Vintage Moon Stamp Set and embossed it to create the subtle background on this card.  You can see in some of the close ups just how fabulous it really does look. It’s a great way to add that extra touch to any card or layout.

Here is another example I created showing the border square stamp from the Fancy Frames set.

It is so fun to customize papers to fit that exact them your going for… Other ideas that would be would be great using this technique would be birthday layouts, monograms on your papers or cards, specific numbers for birthday ages, different words for different occasions, and with Pink Paislee Stamps there are tons of different images to get creative with.

I say dust off those stamps and start customizing some papers! This is an awesome idea to start using up those papers you’ve been hoarding that are going outta style. HeeHeeHee.

Have fun and be sure to upload any Pink Projects over at Live Pink. Can’t wait to see what you’re making.

Stampin’ Sunday!

Posted on April 26, 2009

Can you believe it’s Sunday already? I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Ours started really nicely with some beautiful weather but a storm came in unexpectedly last night and ruined our plans to go over to our community garden plot to get it ready for planting….oh well, there’s always next weekend!

Anyway, Sundays on the Pink Paislee blog are for stamping! A year ago, I would have panicked at the idea of creating a layout focusing on stamping. Stamping directly on a layout seemed too final for someone like me likes to move things around until everything feels just right. I finally started to stamp around the time I learned to use an x-acto knife (see my fussy cutting post from last month). For me, stamping fussy cutting go hand in hand and these days I still don’t stamp directly on my layouts. Instead, I prefer to cut out the image after stamping which allows me to move it around until I’m happy with the placement of all my elements :)

I used that technique in the layout below with some of my favorite Pink Paislee stamps: the butterflies from the Pop Fashion set and the frames from the Fancy Frames set.

To add some oomph to the large butterfly images, I used a glue pad to stamp and glittered the images with the Orange Crush Pixee Stix glitter. Below, I am breaking my own “no close-up rule” to show you the glittered butterflies ;)

If you’re not a stamper, I hope you give it a try because stamps are so versatile and such a great addition to your toolbag. If you’re scared of making mistakes, do like I do and cut your images out! Once you learn this technique, It’s so easy to make custom embellishments for your layouts!

Until next month,

Ann

A New Pink Sighting {Art Freckles}

Posted on April 25, 2009

I am amazed at all the kits we have spotted this month that include Pink Paislee products.  We have yet another fun kit to show off today and this time it comes from our friends at Art Freckles.

This bold kit features our Fascinating papers and embellishments in a kit called Poppy Talk.

First off, I LOVE the name of this kit and second I love how they mixed in some bling and some of those fun cards from Sassafras.  If I do say so myself it is the perfect mix and at $25 it is also a great deal!

Here are some ideas on how to use this kit from the team at Art Freckles: (notice how everyone cut out the flowers from our Irresistible paper to create clusters of embellishments?)

Thanks to the team at Art Freckles for showing us this fabulous kit and all the ways you can use it!  If you want to take a closer look at this kit just CLICK HERE

Happy Saturday everyone!  We hope you are having a Pink Day!
