Thursday Trends - Mix the old with the New
June 4, 2009 by admin
Happy Thursday morning!
When thinking about what to do for a trendy post, I didn’t have to look very far. With the state of our economy, while we all certainly enjoy purchasing and using the latest and greatest products, many scrappers are starting to spend more and more time, digging through their stash for paper and embellishments to use on their layouts.
The great thing about many of the Pink Paislee designs is that they work with older releases. This is a great way to use up old product while still enjoying new releases.
For my layout I was able to mix the Sweet Cakes line with the newer Fascinating and Captivating lines, for a summer layout.
Fascinatings Bewitching for the base.
Captivating’s Tender blue.
Sweet Cake’s Sweet Cakes for summery creamsicle yum, and Cutie Pie for the orange polka dots.
I also added a Fascinating Chipboard fluorish and my title was made with the brown Captivating chipboard alphas.
I’ve been having a love affair with scallops, so I used a Fiskars Scallop Sentiment punch for this layout. It’s almost the same size as the die cut paper so it is my go to punch with this line.
I attached the Cutie Pie paper with pop dots so that it would float above my photos a little bit, and also give a place for the edge of the chipboard fluorish to hide under.
3 different Pink Paislee lines, and one summertime layout!
I hope you are able to utilize your stash, yet still include new product into your projects.   Have a great day! Davinie

beautiful, Davinie! Love how you mixed the lines, and I agree…all the lines seem to go so well together!

Might be my favorite thing about Pink Paislee-so many of lines mix and match. Tends to make them new all over again-this is gorgeous.
Your style is always so fresh & uncluttered….perfect for the papers you have used.
