My head’s a little fuzzy from a cold today and I can’t think of one gift that stands out. So, just leaving another generic comment begging and pleading with you to pick me.

My children are my greatest gifts. They weren’t born in December but now I truely know what the Bible means when it says after Jesus was born “And Mary pondered these things in her heart”. That is one of my favorite Christmas Bible verses.
The best gift I ever received for Christmas was my first grandaughter, Erikka Marie, born 12/22/03. Five and a half years later, for my birthday this year I received grandaughter number 2 Emma Sophia, born 6/25/09. What more could a grandmother (”g-ma”) ask for.

best gift ever was a very thoughtful electric foot warmer from my DH. the reason it was the best is because I knew he thought carefully about it.
Be still my beating heart-WOW! Every year I get a box of crayons from my #2 son. It comes from the book “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten”-it has a chapter about crayons being the answer to world peace. We still hope.

Two gifts that stand out in my mind are my Kitchenaid mixer from my husband that I use all the time and also an old red and white quilt that my mom gave me.

My DH bought me a mothers ring about 5 years ago and surprised me with it. It’s nothing Grand, but for a man who HATES shopping and has panic attacks in crowds to pick it out and order it and keep it a surprise with ALL 4 kids knowing is a pretty special feat!

This will show my age for sure, but my favorite christmas gift was a Chatty Cathy doll I got when I was 7. That was the year that my dad left “snow tracks” in the front yard telling us that’s where Santa’s sleigh had come through.
I think the best present I received was about 10 years ago. My dad bought me a heat gun. I’m still using it which is more than I can say for a lot of other presents!

My best gift ever was the suprise trip my husband took me on last year. We went on a fabulous train ride through the Verde Valley - so lovely in November. He planned it all behind my back & even managed to make dinner reservations at a nearby western dinner theater & reserve a nice room in Sedona. It was so much fun!!
One time I got these records with princess scenes on them. I think there was Cinderella and Snow White. Those were awesome!

Oh … easy… my Campus Queen Lunch Box. I had one when I was a 4 year old kid and LOVED it . It even had a little magnetic game on the back. Well, 40 years later, my husband tracks one down for me & gives it to me for Christmas. I was thrilled !!!

My husband gave me a diamond tennis bracelet once he finished college. He went back when he was 32 and it was quite a challenge for our whole family - we have three children that were in K, 1st and 3rd grades at the time. Anyway, he gave me the bracelet taped inside the lid of a roasting pan. I hate to cook so I almost did not even open the pan…..

Ohhh Love today’s addition! The best thing I ever got was a marriage proposal from DH at the Grove in Los Angeles 3 years ago Dec 22nd (you know the place on TMZ they catch all the celebs shopping at). Every year it’s decorated beautifully and at certain times of the day it snows! We were walking across the bridge over the pond in the center and it started snowing and I was looking up at the snow falling and all of the sudden I hear “will you marry me?” I was totally surprised and the ring was gorgeous and sparkling!Of course I said YES! People were congratulating us and some tourists took our picture. It was pretty amazing.
When I was a child I wanted a Patty Play Pal and like the Zhu Zhu pets, she was hard to get.
My Grandparents were visiting friends in Michigan and found one. So on Christmas Eve during our gift opening my mom said “Sherry would you get my slippers out of the closet for me?” When I opened the closet door there she was!. I played with that doll till I was twelve years old! One of my best gifts ever!
Well, my sweet hubby is probably my best ever gift, but of a more tangible nature, probably the ring he gave me a few years ago, because he did it in such a romantic way, and it was from his heart.

The best Christmas present I ever received was a jewelry box shaped like a chalet with a water wheel that turned when the tune of “Edelweiss” played. Santa brought it to me when I was 10 years old. The movie “The Sound of Music” had come out not long before and I was enchanted by it. I even bought the “real” book, “The Von Trapp Family Singers,” from my school book order! When I saw it under the tree on Christmas morning, I remember feeling so awestruck that I almost couldn’t breathe. I still have the jewelry box and I still love “The Sound of Music.” And if you ever get a chance to go to the Mirabel Gardens in Austria, do it! It’s even more beautiful in real life.

It is rather sappy –but the greatest gift I’ve received is, through my son, I’ve discovered my capacity for unconditional love and have found joy in life.

Best Christmas gift ever was 3 years ago my Grandpa gave us a Christmas miracle and recovered from his stroke. The hospital had signed him off as dead but he recovered almost fully and lived for two more years.

The present I remember the most from when I was a child was the dollhouse that my parents made me for my barbies. I was about 6. My Dad built it out of wood and my Mom decorated it. My nieces play with it now and it is fun to see the 70s decor which matched our house at the time since my Mom used scraps of fabric and wallpaper.

I remember getting my first record player back in 1977. It was so cool because it had a clear blue plastic top with a red & white base.
I also broke it a week later, along with my ankle, when I ran out of my room after seeing the curtain move. I landed on my foot at the bottom of the stairs, then only to see our dog come out of the room a couple of minutes later. I didn’t even know he was in there.

The best gift I ever received was a walking/talking doll named Chatty Kathy. I was in kindergarden (and my name is Kathi) and I was having some trouble interacting with all of the students. The doll charmed my teacher and instantly earned me interest from both girls and boysi including those in first grade thanks to a trick my teacher helped me with. A memorable christmas!

The best gift I ever received was a phone call from my DH (then only a BF) my sophomore year in HS–asking me out on a date!!! Hee!Hee! Sadly, I was sick with a fever that entire Christmas vacation—I begged mom to let me go–even though I could barely sit up! OH–how I knew then he was the one….
by the time we returned from Christmas break–he was back with his old girlfriend…..but not to worry–it was meant to be! A year later at a Superbowl party at his house–we both realized we really wanted to be together! We have been ever since!!!

My best gift…ever really wasn’t a tangible gift. It was the way my father made the magic of Christmas come alive when I was 5years old and Santa delivered an early Christmas present in the middle of a snowstorm. A brand new snowmobile appeared in our yard…a certain 5year old was totally speechless. All she could do was jump up & down and point outside.

I can’t think of a Christmas gift that stands out but the greatest gift I could get this year would be dinner out just my husband and I - with 3 preschoolers and no family in town, I can’t remember when we last had a night out together!

best present ever…an angel necklace that i saw just after a miscarriage (and many surgeries)…i said it reminded me of our angel that we just lost…a few months later, it was wrapped up all nice and pretty under the tree from my husband. it is still my most cherised present even after 3 years.

The best gift I ever received was for my 40th Bday - I thought I was getting a printer (because our other one was kaput), but I opened the gift…and my husband had set a travel catalog inside - for a CRUISE! So we went on a weekend trip to Mexico a month later. He arranged for everything, even for my mom and sis to watch our kids. Even after almost 18 years, he can STILL surprise me! (and yes, eventually, we got a printer too.

I think the best gift was the first Christmas gift my husband, then boyfriend gave me. It sounds strange but it was a little space heater. I had just moved from Guam to Northern California, and I was always cold. I used that little heater until it died. I just got rid of it about 2 weeks ago, actually. We’ve been together for 34 years, married for 31!
The best gift I received was from my daughter and son(they were still in school) about 7 years ago. They had saved their money and bought a computer desk from Ikea for our family. They snuck it in the house and on Christmas Eve stayed up all night to put it together! We had no idea what was going on!

The best gift I ever received was my first bike when I was 8 or 9. It had a banana seat, high handle bars with streamers and a white basket with plastic flowers ! I rode that thing until it was way tooo small and rusty. I wouldn’t let my dad throw it away and it sat in our garage until I went to high school. I came home from school one day and it wasn’t in the garage. It had always been there. I was a little sad that day to see part of my childhood just disappear.

I remember being as a kid on one of painting competitions i won a big box of oil paints! (which my mom wont let me have as she thought i was too young for it) it was the happiest day of my life! and i got to use that too!
