Saturday Sketch

December 26, 2009 by admin

Happy Boxing Day everyone!!! I used to be a fervent Boxing Day shopper but I’ve since given up…instead, I sit in the comfort of my home (instead of battling crowds) and am getting ready to go eat yet another turkey dinner with family this afternoon. Aaaahhhh, it’s so liberating not to be hunting for those hot deals, lol.

I realized last night that this would be my  last blog post for Pink Paislee. A year ago, I had applied for the design team with very little hope of being chosen. After all, I was pretty much an unknown name in the scrapping world and Pink Paislee is one of those teams that everyone is dying to design for. Imagine my surprise when I saw my name on the blog when the announcement went up. WOW. I still remember the shock and amazement like it was yesterday. A year later, I couldn’t be happier with my Pink Paislee experience. The products rock, the team blows my mind every month with their creativity, and Rebecca is an amazing boss. I’m a bit sad that this is my last post but as the saying goes…all good things must come to an end.

What I’m not sad about is that my last blog post came on Sketchy Saturday. You see, I have a thing for sketches. I love them and hoard them like others hoard patterned paper. The last sketch that I fell in love with is this one from Debbie Hodge. I love it because I scrap 4×6 pictures a lot and I sometimes find it hard to scrap portrait and landscape pictures together.

Based on that sketch, here is my layout. All products are from the Mistletoe & Co. collection. I ran out of T’s so I used an ‘L’ with one of the curvy chipboard shapes (love those!) to create my T. I love how it turned out! I also created postage stamp edges on the tags with my pinking shears. This is a pretty literal interpretation of the sketch and I hope you that you’ll find this sketch as inspiring as I did!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I love reading about Christmas traditions others have. What a great idea you came up with for your souveniers - I love it! What a clever idea to turn tags into postage. Such a lovely LO.

What a lovely way to capture a wonderful tradition Anne! The postage stamps are so apt given the ornaments come from all over.
