Sunday’s Sketch
Posted on March 14, 2010
Hello, Everyone! How is your weekend going? Hopefully, you are enjoying time with friends and family and maybe even sneaking in a little scrapping!
Today I have a sketch and a layout to share with you. I used the Cupid collection on this page of my son with his sisters. He is always complaining about how he is surrounded by girls. It’s true. He and my husband have lots of girls to deal with around here . . . even our dog is a girl! LOL! I wanted to create this page to assure him that there are some positive aspects of having sisters . . . including one day having three brothers-in-law to pal around with.
I used the Expressions Ambrose Letter Stickers in Ocean and Expressions Glitter Chipboard Letters in Berry to create the title. The letters and handcut flowers are embellished with pearl accents from my stash.
If you play with this sketch, we’d love to see what you do with it! Link us up here in the comment box!
Have a great week!
Monochromatic Monday
Posted on March 1, 2010
For my Monochromatic Monday page I decided to work with the color BLUE. I pulled papers from the 365 Degrees collection and embellishments from the Bayberry Cottage collection to work with.
I created the pleated border with Bayberry Cottage Mini Papers. I used an edge punch on the paper strips before folding them. The larger bracket border was created by cutting off the edges of the Flip Notes.
To create the journal strips, I cut the Teal Artisan Tape in half.
I wanted the Whimsies Letter Stickers to be black, so I simply colored them using a black Slick Writer Marker.
What are you working on this week?
Thursday Trends: Burlap
Posted on February 25, 2010
One trend I see popping up everywhere this spring is BURLAP. It is showing up in home decor . . .
And even in fashion.
While I don’t picture myself purchasing an itchy burlap couch or donning a scratchy skirt this season (ouch!), I can still join in the fun by adding a layer or two of burlap in my scrapbooking.
I decided to use a layer of burlap on this page of my husband walking on the beach with our children. The casual texture and dimension it add is perfect for the feeling I was going for on this page.
I used the papers, flipnotes, and punchouts, and Bella Brads from the Bayberry Cottage collection. The letter stickers are the Expressions Ambrose Alphabet in Bayberry (LOVE this color!). The chipboard letters are the Expressions Glitter Alphabet in Limeade. The dotted border stamp is from the Twilight Impressions stamp set. The flower punch (flower center) is by Martha Stewart.

The flowers were created by pleating the Teal Artisan tape into a circle and mounting onto a puched carstock circle base.

Word It Wednesdays
Posted on February 3, 2010
Hi Everyone! I’m Jana Eubank. I am thrilled to be making my very first post here on the Pink Paislee blog. I am looking forward to a wonderful year working with gorgeous Pink Paislee products and the incredible talent on this team.
The word I chose to concentrate on for my Word It Wednesday page is FRIENDSHIP.
As a child I had the opportunity of enjoying the companionship of a pet dog. I wanted my children to have that same experience, but my husband protested. Until one Mother’s Day when he asked me what I wanted. My answer? For my kids to have the experience of having a pet dog. Sneaky?! Yep! Hehehehe! But the very next day we found our Kiki.
When I look at these pictures of my daughter and our dog, Kiki, I am soooo glad we have our little furry friend. My kids adore her . . . and you know what?! She adores them right back.
A dog’s love for their owner is unconditional and wildly loyal. They adore you no matter what, even on your grumpiest of days.
I wanted to add a wintry feel to my page without taking away from the design I had created so far. I decided to pull out my embossing folders, plastic sheets, and create my very own snowflakes held together by beautiful Bella Brads.
Most of the papers and page accents on this page are from the 365 Degrees collection. I also added a sheet of Front Porch paper from the Bayberry Cottage Collection and used the Expressions Cotton Weathered Wood chipboard letters.
Thanks for coming by today!
See you next time!
