Recently, we had a good discussion at one of my favorite scrapbook sites and it centered around Pink Paislee’s {Vintage Moon} ‘Moon Glade’ paper. We all unanimously agreed that the striking teal, paired with the metallicy silvers, made our heart skip a beat!
As I thumbed through all my Pink Paislee supplies it struck me just how much I loved the metallics in the papers, press-ons, transparencies….so I thought I would share with a layout I did featuring some of these brilliant products.
With Halloween just around the corner, I thought it would be perfect to showcase all the shimmer and platinum by creating a Halloween themed layout.

On this layout I used the paper ‘Moon Glade’ {Vintage Moon}, and the {press-ons} Vintage Moon Accents, Vintage Moon Icons, and the Alphabets all fittingly in Metallic Silver. I also complimented the metallics by mounting my pictures onto ‘Platinum-Metallic’ cardstock by Bazzill. Does it get any better than this??! I finished the layout off by adding some irresistible black and orange jewels.
Here are the metallic products I used in all their glory:

Of course it is not required to do a Halloween page with all this metallic goodness….just have fun with it.
Thank YOU for allowing me to share my creations with you this week!

Good Morning! If you know my work, then you know that I love to create home decor items! But here is the thing….I have champagne taste but I’m on a beer budget! So I am always on the hunt for bargains that I can turn into something fabulous!
I had 2 good strokes of luck this week!! First of all I went to the Goodwill and found this big bunch of beauty…for only 90 cents a bundle (love that military discount!). Ignore the little bubble blower in the background…she’s always looking for a free photo shoot!

Well then I walked into my local craft store (starts with an M…hmmm..) and found all these summer floral vase/planters for 90% off. So this little beauty was ummmmm……79 cents….yep…..so I of course bought them all (these are the only times that I am glad my hubby is out to sea!)…

Came home and promptly got to work! I used the beautiful silver and pink damask looking paper from the Pop Fashion line called Hip Huggers. I cut off the pretty scroll part to save for a future project.
OK, so here is where the “tip” part of Tuesday comes in. When I am covering something I normally just trace the pattern…but that isn’t always the easiest way and sometimes is just not possible, as in this case. So…I use a very simple way of making my pattern. I self emboss my paper. I take my paper and put it on the surface I want to cover. Then using my fingers I rub the edges (be sure to hold firmly in place, you don’t want slippage with this technique) until I have a groove to follow when I cut.

Hopefully you can see the grooves, my camera had a hard time picking them up.
I use a fabric glue for all my altered projects and mini albums. It dries fast, is SO strong, acid free and lasts forever. It is made for fabric so it doesn’t soak through your papers, ribbons etc…nor does it wrinkle or stain at all. It’s my favorite.
Rather then removing the paper on the vase (messy and waste of time) I just inked the edges black so that if they show through on my corner seams…no big deal.

OK, next I painted and glittered the topsider chipboard piece. I left it bare and plan to use the cardstock sticker on another project.
Then I glued the papers down…..then the topsider piece, then the trims…and I used a border from the Vintage Moon pressons around the bottom of the vase. It’s best to cut your presson into a piece that is the width of the vase vs. trying to wrap it around the vase and rub.

Then I used a sheer and backed it with the pink polkadot Lunch Hour paper from the Office Lingo line. I used some pink bling and then a butterfly presson from Pop Fashion Icons in the center.

After getting the vase all taken care of…it was time to fancy up the flowers a bit!! So I used the butterfly stamp from the Pop Fashion Clear Stamps. I stamped a bunch of butterflies onto the silver Hip Huggers paper. Cut them out…and glued them back to back on black wire. I essentially made flower picks with them.

Then comes the fun part…arranging the roses, butterfly picks and some white berry sprigs. Very pretty and a pretty easy project and the best part is…..it’s CHEAP but looks like a million bucks!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day of bargain hunting and creating something lovely!!

Just a quick photo to share with you today…..I got all 15 of the glitter colors in this week for final inspection before production and I am just a little bit giddy! These glitter tubes are so ME! And of course they can be so YOU!
These fun glitter tubes ship to stores in October and we are now taking pre-orders from our retailers on the display program. Each tube holds 10 grams of glitter and the MSRP is only $1.99! The tubes are constructed out of a lightweight plastic material so they truly are glitter filled straws….however don’t let that deter you. The opening is large enough for any funnel or tray so you will be able to dump the unused glitter back into the straw if you don’t need it all.
I just love these little tubes of sparkle!
…….if you would like to try them out just leave a comment here on our blog and we will choose 1 lucky winner to receive all 15 colors for FREE! Just a fun little blog giveaway for our loyal visitors! I will choose a winner by Monday the 25th.
The best part……the winner will get them NOW! Before anyone else has even laid eyes on them….so get to chatting here will ya?????????????????

I am so glad that my assignment for this week was a sketch. I have had a really busy summer, so a sketch was the perfect way to settle back into a creative routine and get organized.
After searching around to various sketch sites, I decided to use a July sketch from Pagemaps.

When I saw this sketch I knew I wanted to use just one photo that had a lot of white space at the top. I chose a photo that I took of Morgan a few weeks ago at one of our beach trips. Morgan is not a fan of having her photo taken, so when she plopped down a bit away from me and started digging in the sand, I took the opportunity to get a picture of her with the beach and the beautiful sky behind her. I printed the photo 4×7 with this layout in mind, and because I liked the look of all that beach with my girl.

I thought the Vintage Moon Collection was a perfect choice for this beach themed layout. And because I scrap both 12×12 and 8 1/2 x 11, I loved the idea of using three sides to the decorative edged Moonrakers paper, which is a little less than 12×12. I always trim my 12×12 page protectors to fit my oversized 8 1/2 x 11 layouts which allows for a lot of creative options.
As you know, I love to stitch on everything, so I had a little fun with this one. I also added some fun KI buttons and some Kaiser gems to finish it off.

Lastly, at the time of this layout I didn’t have any of the new Jenni Bowlin crepe paper ribbon that I have been lusting after. Instead, I used leftover streamers from my daughter’s birthday party, rouched it, and layered a piece of paper over the top. I just love the decorative look.
I challenge you to try this or another sketch this summer. It will help stretch your creative brain, especially if you are out and about like I am and still want to cut up paper in between trips.

Today was a crazy day. First day of 3rd grade started here for my little guy. I can’t believe how fast summer went by. I have had one busy Summer, had a baby, Timmy turned 8, moved cities, did crunch time layouts for CHA, and who knows what else. LOL I’ve enjoyed it all though. Probably one of my best Summers to remember. I hope everyone else has had a wonderful Summer as well. I’m ready to get back into a routine though.
Now for our Wednesday Words…
I’m not always good with titles. Infact I always have such a hard time journaling and coming up with titles. So today a little help with words. On this page I got stuck trying to come up with a title, then it came to me… Open up your ITunes and read through all of my song titles, there’s gotta be something there. Low and behold, thee very first song was my perfect title.
I will definitely be doing this the next time I get stuck. Hmmm or maybe just the next time I scrap it worked out so well. Ha.
Anywho this picture is a bit blurry, but it’s one of the only photos I have of my new baby, Ayden and I. When I took this picture I couldn’t get it right so I just gave up. A week later I downloaded it to my computer and when it came up on my screen I fell in love with it. It’s not perfect. Its blurry. Our faces are cut off. But scrapbooking is no longer about scrapping thee perfect photos. Its about memories. Its about everyday life. Its about love. Its about togetherness. Its about whatever your heart says it is. And today this picture was it for me. And so, here I am sharing it with you.

I hope you enjoy it. And maybe the next time you can’t come up with a title you’ll open up ITunes.
Thanks for stopping by.
We hope you’ll be back soon.

Well actually it is several dollars. We’ve been having computer problems and it seemed to be continually getting worse for the past couple of weeks. It would take almost 5 minutes just to open my email program and getting on the internet was even worse. It seemed to be a random thing, (usually it happened to my husband) but then it happened to me. And just when I had something to post here on the Pink Paislee Blog for Monday. It’s better now, but something still seems off so I’ll cross my fingers that this post goes through.
I made a layout using lots of the new Pop Fashion — papers, rub ons,Top Siders, and the letter stickers. But just to show how great the lines can mix and match, I used the Office Lingo Diecut paper for the background. I’m so in love with this layout of my sweet little girl when she was 2. I love how the colors are refreshing and crisp.
Just a few tips for adding some fun and unique style to your pages:
1. Try using things that aren’t scrapping products like I did with the green leafy vine – and it went perfectly with the theme of my layout and with the Pink Paislee colors.
2. Use the Top Siders at different angles. Typically you would expect the green dotted Top Sider to be placed on the page as a square, but I placed it so that it resembles more of a diamond shape. The placement seemed to break up and offset all of the vertical and horizontal lines that I formed with the papers.
3. Don’t forget that you can cut up those rub ons! It looks like the Pop Fashion Metallic Silver rub on runs behind the layers of patterned papers, but waste not want not, right? … so I cut it into smaller pieces so that I can use the rest of the border on another project.
Have a great week!
Linda

I can hardly believe I am saying this, but I am sending my oldest daughter off to college next week! I am not sure where the time has gone, I am certain it was only last week that I was bringing her home from the hospital. . .
Recently when we were in Chicago for CHA, my daughter Anna went along to help us in the booth. While there, she realized the Office Lingo collection was a perfect match to the color scheme she and her room mate had picked out for their dorm. She immediately began planning what kind of projects we could make for her room.
While in Chicago we snuck in a visit to Ikea. We discovered these amazing and SUPER CHEAP plain cardboard magazine files. They were only 2 for $.50! We knew right away that they would be perfect to embellish with paper for a fun and practical dorm item.

Since the boxes will be sitting on a shelf and the sides won’t show, we cut a strip of pattern paper to fit the front only. Each box had a finger hole in the front so we dug into my embellishment stash and discovered the Making Memories’ grommets were a perfect fit. Because Anna wanted files like these to store class notes and handouts in so we made a box for each of her classes. We used simple shipping tags stamped with the Vintage Pop Alpha Stamps. We attached the tags with binder clips to carry on the office theme and to also make it easy to change out the tag when the semester is over.
For classes where she has a class and a lab, we made two matching boxes. A really cool thing about using just a strip of paper on the end of the box, we were able to cut several strips from one sheet of paper. When applied and lined up together, the pattern from the strips match up, creating a flow of the pattern from one box to another.

While in Chicago Anna also started thinking of how fun the Pop Fashion Top Siders Shapes would be as magnets. Although it just really doesn’t show well in the photo, we covered the circle and star with Glossy Accents to give them an epoxy look.
For the speech bubble, we created a mini dry erase board by adhering clear shrink plastic (unshrunk) to the top of the assembled Top Sider. To adhere the plastic, I covered the top of the Top Sider with a piece of Therm O Web’s Mounting Adhesive Sheets (think of it as double sided tape in a sheet). I then adhered the plastic to the adhesive. I trimmed both around the edge with a craft knife and then lightly sanded being careful to not scratch the surface of the plastic.
Add a magnet to the back of each and you have some really fun and fast elements!
The following part isn’t really Pink Paislee related, but I wanted to share it anyway, just because. . .

While Anna and I were crafting, my little one, Emma decided that she needed to get in on the fun so we gave her a sheet of plain cardstock to create “art” on. (Emma always calls coloring and drawing “making art”.)
She didn’t want to just decorate just a strip so we added her whole sheet to the box. What you can’t see in the photo is that she drew her and Anna and wrote their names. It was important to her that they were making the project together and that they both be in her picture.

It is moments like this that I really love this papercrafting hobby. I love that it helps create moments like this one, where I can sit with my girls and create and help foster creativity in them. That these stacks of supplies that we amass can be used for more than just creating a project but can also be used to foster creativity in children and provide us with opportunities for special shared moments.

Hi! This is Anabelle and I’m here to share a trend I’m seeing popping up a lot - using scrapping supplies to make home decor. Everywhere you look, people are decorating with handmade designs using patterned paper and other embellishments. Here is the wall hanging/frame that I made using several topsiders along with rubons, stickers and patterned paper.
This project started life quite differently. My initial idea was to use the topsiders to make mini frames. I love the idea of having a coordinated set propped up on a desk. (My husband really wanted some pics for his office…) The topsiders made great frames, but I didn’t have any cardstock that was sturdy enough to use as the frame holder thingy in the back. So, I decided to pull out another trendy item - an acrylic sheet - and use that as the basis for the project.

The problem with clear pages is that it’s REALLY hard to get a good image of them. But I think you get the idea…
I started off by creating each of the little frames first. I used beads, rhinestones, brads and rubons to make them. Then I added the silver rubon to the page. Next I added the title and pink rhinestones and finally I painted behind the title and around the edges.

There you have it. A fun project that could be hung up or displayed somewhere. So next time you get the urge to decorate, grab those Pink Paislee scrapping supplies and make something you can showcase in your home.
Thanks for stopping by,
Anabelle

Hello, hello….Michelle , here, with a little Tuesday technique to inspire you to use the yummy new Paislee letter stickers + rub-ons! (I just love them both so much, why not combine them with one simple technique?) The smaller patterns on the rub-ons work really well on small detailed pieces, and I wanted to add a little interest to the letter stickers in my page title, so they were a match made in heaven!
To start, gather your supplies: rub-ons, letter stickers, a leftover piece of smooth sticker-backing that you can use to reposition stickers on temporarily (I used the paper from underneath the ”Topsiders” stickers - it’s super shiny and the large sticker size gave me lots of room to work on), and a tool to burnish the rub-ons. Spell out your letter sticker word roughly on the smooth repositionable sticker-back paper; this is so you can easily remove the stickers after you apply the rub-ons; space them out far enough apart so you can work between them. Cut out a small slice of the rub-on pattern (I used the word pattern from the black ‘Vintage Moon Accents’ Press-On set) and randomnly rub portions of the pattern over the letters. For a vintage look, pull it up halfway and rub haphazardly to make sure you don’t get the whole rub-on down - imperfection is cool, here!

Once you’ve finished, use a stylus or even the tip of your nail to get rid of any extra rub-ons around the edges of the letters - it’s super easy on the repositionable paper, they just rub right off! Then, all you have left to do is peel the decorated letter stickers off and add them to your page! And voila!

Here’s the finished page I made with the technique title:

I outlined my letters with a black pen to make them stand out a little more, too! This technique would be super-fun to try with silver rub-ons on a darker letter sticker, too! =) I hope you enjoy the new Paislee goodies arriving in your mailboxes, and have fun playing with the letters and press-ons! You’ll as addicted as me, I promise! Happy day!

Good morning! It’s Friday and that means it’s sketch day. What an easy way to jump start your scrapping this weekend! I found today’s sketch on the Pencil Lines site. Check it out at www.pencillines.com This was the first time I’ve been to their site and I have to say they have some great sketches and gorgeous examples to drool over! Here’s the one I finally selected…
And here’s my take on it. My kiddos lazin’ around the pool in their floaties.

I mixed papers from Vintage Moon and Pop Fashion. Love the pink, teal, and yellow together for a summer page! I used a wavy border from the Vintage Moon TopSiders pack to go with the pool theme and made a few water drops with some clear buttons on top of some Night Owl paper circles. I also cut out the center circle from one of the TopSiders to make the flower.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get out to enjoy some of these lazy days of summer!

Owls are so cute and popular in scrapbooking these days and are featured on one of my favorite new papers from the Vintage Moon collection! I’m an avid cardmaker, so I thought I’d show you a few ways to use owls on your cards and share some of the titles I came up with that would work with them!
Here is a little Halloween pocket card that I created with the owl image from the new chipboard Topsiders:

On the inside of this card, I used another chipboard Topsider, added the new Fashion Script letter stickers for my sentiment, and accented it with the Vintage Moon rub ons:

On this next card, I used the Night Owl paper from the 8 x 8 paper pack to create a birthday card! Also, the new rub on alphabet letters are perfect for creating your own unique titles as I did here:

Below I’ve put together a little list of other catchy owl titles for your cards or scrapbook pages:
I think You’re a Hoot
W-oooo-t!
I Give a Hoot
Owl’s It Going?
Owl Always Love You
Wise as an Owl
Hooo Loves You?
Happy Haunting
Sp-oooo-ky
Hope Owl’s Well With You
Out on a Limb
Take Flight and Go
Pecked Just for You
Hoot and Holler!
Night Owl
Be Wise
I’m sure there are a million more, but hopefully these will get your creativity jump started!
Thanks for stopping by today! ~Danielle~
