introducing lynn ghahary….our february guest artist

Posted on February 22, 2010

Hi! My name is Lynn Ghahary and I live in Northwest New Jersey with my husband and high school sweetheart Salar along with our two wild and crazy boys Darian (age 5) and Brandon (age 3.5).

I was first introduced to the wonderful world of scrapbooking way back in 2000.  As a young girl I had always loved to be artsy and creative so this hobby was right up my alley and I was hooked immediately! Unfortunately I didn’t have much time to scrapbook as I worked a very demanding full-time job and I did a lot more dabbling and buying supplies for projects I wanted to create than actually using them (although don’t we all! LOL).  I took a break completely in 2004 when my first son was born and didn’t really come back to scrapbooking “full time” until early 2008.

Now that I’m back I am here to stay and have been completely in awe at how far this amazing craft has come since we first “met” nearly 10 years ago!  Scrapbooking is my creative outlet – it lets me get in touch with who I am and my goals and dreams for myself and my family, all while preserving our most cherished family photos and memories.  Not only do I love to scrapbook but I also love to create paper crafts of all kinds including cards, mini albums, and altered items.  I also love to stamp on paper creations and try out new techniques.  I am lucky enough to design for several wonderful manufacturers and have had my work published in several magazines including Creating Keepsakes, CARDS, Paper Crafts, Scrapbooks Etc, Scrapbook Trends, and Scrapbooks and Cards Today.

In addition to scrapbooking I am an avid gardener, bookworm, and wannabe photographer. I am also a self-professed reality TV show junkie and organizing diva.

I am thrilled to be a guest designer for Pink Paislee this month!

lynn’s creations featuring the 365 Degrees Collection:

“outtakes”

For this particular layout I decided to play with my mists, markers, punches and more.  I used the large Expressions chipboard alphas as a mask for a play on the word “out” in my title and spritzed my patterned paper with some cream Maya Mist.  I then layered with the new Expressions alphabet stickers (mine were white and I simply colored them with a red Copic marker).  I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch out several different starbursts which I then stitched haphazardly to a strip of red patterned paper.  A few pieces of Artisan tape in orange holds my photo strip in place and some bits of the new 365 degrees Press Ons around my page finish this layout off.

“01.10″

This layout was all about layering and embellishments.  I used the fabulous new Cork Buttons, Bella Brads, Punchouts, and FlipNotes to adorn this layout about the start of the new year for my oldest son Darian.  And, of course, who can resist the new Expressions chipboard alphas.  I LOVE the large size and already weathered look for a really stand out title.

WOW is all I can say about this Lynn’s designs this month.  Lynn has totally blown us away with her creative touches.  Masking off letters for her title, stitching little hearts and using her Copic Marker to make those white sticker alphas red have definitely shown us new ways to use our current supplies!

Lynn is a force to be reckoned with and we invite you to visit her blog to learn more about her.  We will most certainly be keeping on eye on her in the future!  Thank you so much Lynn for creating such A-mazing layouts to inspire all of us.

introducing Tania Willis…our january guest artist

Posted on January 31, 2010

Hello Pink Paislee fans! I’m super excited to be the Guest Designer this month on the blog! My name is Tania Willis, I’m 32 years old and I’ve been addicted to doing something—anything—creative for most of my life. I currently live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband of 14 years, Doug, and my two spunky princesses, Ashlyn Rose (8) and Emma Grace (5). Although the youngest would much rather be known as Spidergirl, and not so much a princess, don’tcha know. She’s obsessed.

I’ve been scrapbooking for the past 15 years, and professionally for the past 8. I love to make things beautifully handmade—making something from nothing—and I think my style is reflective of that, without looking crafty or homespun. I’d describe my style as fresh and comfortable, polished and not forced, and technique driven with a strong focus on layering products. And you will almost always, find hand-stitched details on my projects.

A huge thank you to Pink Paislee for allowing me to receive the awesome Cupid Collection to create with and be featured here on the blog! I loved every minute of it!

tania’s creations for pink paislee:

I love how Tania stamped the xoxo in the background and created this amazing heart out of those paper punched circles!  What an amazing way to use those punches.

Tania also used the canvas patch as a guide for some extra hand stitching.  A great way to add detail!

As the journaling points out…..we love our kids even when they are grumpy :-)

Lovin the paper flowers she crumpled and created for this layout!

Love the collage border along the bottom here….so dimensiona!

A huge thank you to Tania for creating such fun layouts using our Cupid collection!  With Valentine’s Day just 14 days away these projects should inspire you to start creating those love themed layouts or cards!

Introducing amanda muirhead….our december guest artist

Posted on December 30, 2009

Hey everyone!  My name is Amanda Muirhead.  I live in beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada, home to the land of red soil and Anne of Green Gables. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have a precious 4 year old daughter, Larissa.  I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago but my passion for this craft grew tremendously when Larissa was born.   I have always loved pretty papers, glitter, writing tools and basically anything crafty so scrapbooking was a natural hobby for me to pick up.  I love everything about scrapbooking so it never feels like a chore or obligation…just having fun with the benefit of preserving memories for my family.

I want to thank Pink Paislee for this wonderful opportunity to show off the Cupid collection and thank you for checking out my creations!

amanda’s creations for pink paislee:

FINALLY we get to share our December guest artist with our blog readers today.  We had such a busy jam packed blog this month (remember those 12 days of christmas giveaways???) and unfortunately Amanda was forced to wait until the end of the month to share her creations.  Not only did we make her wait all month we made her wait all year!  Last January we selected our 2009 guest artists and Amanda held the title for December which meant she had to wait all year to receive her goodie box and get started.  Let me tell you it was completely worth the wait!  If you aren’t convinced that you need some of this Cupid collection after seeing these amazing layouts then you are just plain silly!  We love how she created a bowtie out of the canvas patch, used the xoxo clear stamp repeatedly to create a border and we love all the fun ways she layered our punchouts!  Gorgeous gorgeous work.

To get to know Amanda better we invite you to visit her BLOG HERE.

A huge thank you to Amanda for waiting every so patiently to get crafty with a little bit of Pink Paislee.  She told us she used up every inch of what we sent to her and I totally believe it.

Introducing brenda hurd…our november guest artist

Posted on November 13, 2009

Hi!  My name is Brenda Hurd, I live in Utah with my husband and 3 beautiful children.  I have been scrapbooking for over 15 years - I started when my hubby left on his LDS mission and kept sending all of his pictures home to me!  But I have to say my LOVE for this hobby actually started almost 9 years ago when I had my first baby.  Since then it has been a growing passion and still grows every day.  I love to watch my kids look through the books and act like it’s the first time they have seen the pictures or read the story.  Makes all the time, effort and money worth it.  It also provides an outlet for me - when I need ‘mommy time’ or just let my frustrations out - they seem to come out great on paper - now if I could incorporate that at the gym!  I love being creative in some way every day - and I love knowing that one day - my legacy will be documented.  I loved the opportunity of working with Pink Paislee products - this christmas line is FABULOUS and has to be my fave.

It was great to see Brenda’s design style again this year.  Brenda represented us at a Memory Works event earlier this year and we loved her work and her style.  I love how she adds just the perfect amount of paint and accents to finish it off! One thing I have noticed is that every one of her projects looks so unique!

Thanks so much Brenda for sharing your talents and inspiration with us this month!

introducing jolene pienaar….our october guest artist

Posted on October 27, 2009

Hi! My name is Jolene Pienaar and I’m from the sunny hot country of Australia – Queensland. I am one of those addicted scrappers who can’t stop scrapping and when I HAVE to stop, I can’t help but think about scrapping!  This hobby quickly turned into a burning passion to create to my hearts contempt and to be able to pour my heart and soul out into journaling about absolutely precious moments.

I am very fortunate to have the most gorgeous girls – Katie-Lee is 4 year old and my little Lily is 5 months old. They provide me with endless amounts of laughter and joy and of course gives me a gorgeous topic to scrap about frequently.

I found scrapbooking when I was pregnant with my eldest girl, very keen to document all those special achievements in her life I started dabbling in this gorgeous hobby, it didn’t take me long to realize that I have found a life long love in photos, paper and glues.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to play with the Pink Paislee products!

jolene’s designs for Pink Paislee:

When we sent Jolene her box of “Twilight” goodies the first thing she said to me was “we don’t really celebrate Halloween here in Australia.”  So….as you can see by Jolene’s fabulous designs….you can truly use our products for any theme or subject matter.  She even sprinkled in products from our previous collections to tie it all together.  Jolene has such a great way of adding all of the little details and we are thrilled to introduce you to her work here on our blog.

To see more of Jolene’s projects be sure to visit her blog HERE.

Thank you so much Jolene for sharing your style with us; all the way from down under no less!!
