introducing lynn ghahary….our february guest artist
Posted on February 22, 2010
Hi! My name is Lynn Ghahary and I live in Northwest New Jersey with my husband and high school sweetheart Salar along with our two wild and crazy boys Darian (age 5) and Brandon (age 3.5).
I was first introduced to the wonderful world of scrapbooking way back in 2000. As a young girl I had always loved to be artsy and creative so this hobby was right up my alley and I was hooked immediately! Unfortunately I didn’t have much time to scrapbook as I worked a very demanding full-time job and I did a lot more dabbling and buying supplies for projects I wanted to create than actually using them (although don’t we all! LOL). I took a break completely in 2004 when my first son was born and didn’t really come back to scrapbooking “full time” until early 2008.
Now that I’m back I am here to stay and have been completely in awe at how far this amazing craft has come since we first “met” nearly 10 years ago! Scrapbooking is my creative outlet – it lets me get in touch with who I am and my goals and dreams for myself and my family, all while preserving our most cherished family photos and memories. Not only do I love to scrapbook but I also love to create paper crafts of all kinds including cards, mini albums, and altered items. I also love to stamp on paper creations and try out new techniques. I am lucky enough to design for several wonderful manufacturers and have had my work published in several magazines including Creating Keepsakes, CARDS, Paper Crafts, Scrapbooks Etc, Scrapbook Trends, and Scrapbooks and Cards Today.
In addition to scrapbooking I am an avid gardener, bookworm, and wannabe photographer. I am also a self-professed reality TV show junkie and organizing diva.
I am thrilled to be a guest designer for Pink Paislee this month!
lynn’s creations featuring the 365 Degrees Collection:
“enjoy the journey”
One of the things I love most about the new 365 degrees collection is the mix of colors and patterns - they are just so refreshing! For this layout I chose to focus on the the beautiful shades of blue, green, and yellow in the collection to compliment this photo of my youngest son Brandon taken on the beach during one of our annual family vacations to Ocean City, NJ. I used a fun color-blocking technique to combine my patterned papers and lead the viewers eye right to the photo of my little guy.
“outtakes”
For this particular layout I decided to play with my mists, markers, punches and more. I used the large Expressions chipboard alphas as a mask for a play on the word “out” in my title and spritzed my patterned paper with some cream Maya Mist. I then layered with the new Expressions alphabet stickers (mine were white and I simply colored them with a red Copic marker). I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch out several different starbursts which I then stitched haphazardly to a strip of red patterned paper. A few pieces of Artisan tape in orange holds my photo strip in place and some bits of the new 365 degrees Press Ons around my page finish this layout off.
This layout was all about layering and embellishments. I used the fabulous new Cork Buttons, Bella Brads, Punchouts, and FlipNotes to adorn this layout about the start of the new year for my oldest son Darian. And, of course, who can resist the new Expressions chipboard alphas. I LOVE the large size and already weathered look for a really stand out title.
WOW is all I can say about this Lynn’s designs this month. Lynn has totally blown us away with her creative touches. Masking off letters for her title, stitching little hearts and using her Copic Marker to make those white sticker alphas red have definitely shown us new ways to use our current supplies!
Lynn is a force to be reckoned with and we invite you to visit her blog to learn more about her. We will most certainly be keeping on eye on her in the future! Thank you so much Lynn for creating such A-mazing layouts to inspire all of us.
introducing Tania Willis…our january guest artist

Hello Pink Paislee fans! I’m super excited to be the Guest Designer this month on the blog! My name is Tania Willis, I’m 32 years old and I’ve been addicted to doing something—anything—creative for most of my life. I currently live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband of 14 years, Doug, and my two spunky princesses, Ashlyn Rose (8) and Emma Grace (5). Although the youngest would much rather be known as Spidergirl, and not so much a princess, don’tcha know. She’s obsessed.
I’ve been scrapbooking for the past 15 years, and professionally for the past 8. I love to make things beautifully handmade—making something from nothing—and I think my style is reflective of that, without looking crafty or homespun. I’d describe my style as fresh and comfortable, polished and not forced, and technique driven with a strong focus on layering products. And you will almost always, find hand-stitched details on my projects.
A huge thank you to Pink Paislee for allowing me to receive the awesome Cupid Collection to create with and be featured here on the blog! I loved every minute of it!
tania’s creations for pink paislee:
I love how Tania stamped the xoxo in the background and created this amazing heart out of those paper punched circles! What an amazing way to use those punches.
Tania also used the canvas patch as a guide for some extra hand stitching. A great way to add detail!
As the journaling points out…..we love our kids even when they are grumpy
Lovin the paper flowers she crumpled and created for this layout!
Love the collage border along the bottom here….so dimensiona!
A huge thank you to Tania for creating such fun layouts using our Cupid collection! With Valentine’s Day just 14 days away these projects should inspire you to start creating those love themed layouts or cards!

Hi everyone! My name is Charity Hassel. I am 34 years old. I have been married to my honey, Brian, for 7 years. We have a 4 year-old named Alexander and Audrey Marie who is 2 years old. I work one shift a week as a RN in the Surgical ICU at Mayo. The rest of my days are spent making sippy cups, playing playdough and trying to scrap during nap-times! One of my favorite things on the planet is chocolate covered popcorn (I’m a chocoholic)! I have been scrapbooking for nearly 6 years now, but became “serious” about it around 5 years ago. My style varies, but I try to use product in unique ways. I also enjoy making cards and other crafty things.
My designs for Pink Paislee (featuring the Twilight Collection)
If you haven’t heard of Charity Hassel by now than we are glad to be the ones to introduce you to her. Her work is featured in several scrapbook publications, blogs, and kit clubs. I don’t think she slows down for a minute. I seriously love how she cut that tree out of our canvas patches for the front of the birdhouse. It creates such a fun textured element.
Thank you Charity for playing with our products this month! To see more of Charity’s creations be sure to visit her blog HERE.

Hi! I’m Emily, wife to Keith and mother to 3 little people (soon to be 4 little people!)
I love pretty much anything crafty and creative. Scrapbooking takes a front seat (after photography) because I love the fact that I’m preserving precious memories for my kids (and hopefully their kids, and their kids…and so on). I have a great, supportive husband who allows my creative brain to flow through everything (even the way I dress–which sometimes, he just doesn’t get!). And I’m blessed with those 3 sweet little beans that i get to take numerous pictures of on a daily basis and then scrap those aforementioned pictures! My kids will never be able to say that they don’t have any pictures of them from when they were little! You can view my daily ramblings at www.andersonfamilycrew.blogspot.com.
Emily’s Projects for Pink Paislee:
First of all we love Emily’s shabby yet whimsical style all wrapped up into 1 package. Each project includes a fun little surprise somewhere and we love that! And that photo of Emily and her husband is the sweetest thing evah!
We are really excited to meet Emily in a few weeks at CHA as she has offered to help us work in our trade show booth in Orlando! If you want to meet Emily be sure to come by to say hello to us in booth 533!
Thanks again Emily for creating such gorgeous projects to inspire us all!

I spotted this layout over in the Live Pink gallery today and I just couldn’t stop staring at all the details! This one was uploaded to the community gallery by Kristii. She also has an adorable little cupcake album over there too. All of her recent projects were created with the Sweet Cakes collection that she received in the January kit from Color Me Daisy.
Thanks for sharing this fabulous design with us Kristii!
