I would like to interrupt our regular blogging program to bring you some close up shots of the new Parisian Anthology Dimensions products. We never got the chance to show you these during sneak peek week so I am back today to show you how fun these can be!

I made these tags before we left for Chicago and we used them as part of our Parisian Anthology display during the latest trade show. These tags were quick and easy to make and I had a lot of fun peeling back the paper layer to reveal the “corrugated flutes” that were hiding underneath. The really cool thing about these pieces is that you can use them just the way they are and they look like regular die cut elements (similar to chipboard) – however if you want to sand them, peel them and distress them you can do that too!

Lets take a closer look:

To color the tags I used glimmer mist and distress inks in layers! I also misted the corrugated pieces after peeling away the edges. As you can see the misting sprays and inks cover the paper beautifully and allow the resist design to magically appear more vibrant.

I also embellished the tags with the tickets and dangle elements in clear! So fun!

So what now? Well I had a bunch of tags lying here on my desk so I decided to incorporate one of them into this layout! I have to admit I stole Heidi’s idea and wrapped the dress form girl with the ruffled darling to make it look like she was wearing a skirt. Heidi embellished and framed one of the corrugated dress form girls at the show and I think everyone fell in love with it on the spot. Mine isn’t nearly as amazing as hers (see below) but I did love the idea of creating a little skirt on this page to mimic the photo.

If you just don’t have it in you to peel away the layers of the corrugated pieces then feel free to ink them or colorize them like I did with the dimensions alpha for the page title above. The pieces dry quick and you get to enjoy the fact that you can “colorize” them to match your project. And…do I even have to convince you to get these papers in bulk?????

Altered Frame above designed by: heidi swapp

These items also come in a reusable corrugated box and each set includes over 50+ pieces! Look for them in stores soon!

Now…back to your regular blog programming.

Hi there, Ania here with a new word for ya.

Or well, not exactly a word, but an encouragement to remember that sometimes scrapping can be some kind of therapy as well. You see, I chose a word that to me is bittersweet. It’s in Norwegian and it means a positive thing, but to me the word has taken on a completely different meaning. You could say I detest the word. And yet, I chose to scrap it, to try and overcome (if not, come to terms with) the word.

Cryptic huh, I know. But you know – we scrapbook for so many different reasons, and sometimes I find place to scrapbook the more darker or serious sides as well as the “fun” ones. I’d suggest you do too if you feel the need for it (you don’t? great for you ), like, once in a while, if you haven’t yet.

Now, on to the brighter sides of this layout

I mixed three of the new collections for this one, “Sweetness“, “Hocus Pocus” and “Parisan Anthology“.

Here you can see all three of them together; tickets from Parisan Anthology, cut out heart from Sweetness (it’s actually a leftoverproject from this one), and a metal badge from Hocus Pocus (I HATE spiders. Love the symbolics here though, it fit well ).

I truly love the new clear cards. They’re so gorgeous and sturdy! And makes great, subtle backgrounds too.

The flip notes were torn off the booklet & sewed on here, hiding my journaling & being decorative at it too. Also, you can see that I used glimmermist on this Lovely Lace paper from Parisan Anthology here (colors: Snow Angel and Gold).

Don’t get me started on the smokey dangle elements from Parisan Anthology! Swoon. I used it with waxed cottoncord from Canvas here.

All in all, a seemingly sweet page with. Hm. I dunno. Creepy elements? Elements reflecting my feelings for the word. And there you have it!

Thanks for letting me share

I am really excited to show you my first layout using the CHA Summer products! When I opened up my box of goodies, I immediately wanted to pair up this Hocus Pocus Spiders Lair die cut with the Sweetness collection. I cut the centre of the die cut out using a craft knife and placed Sweetness – Sweetest Day behind it. I used a pink marker to add bits of colour to the the die cut and tie it in with the Sweetheart goodies.

The sweetheart collection was a great fit for this photo of my daughter sucking on a lollipop. To create the lollipop, I simply placed a Sweetness Doodad on top of a lollipop stick that I purchased at a local candy making store.
