Friday’s Fan Favorites
March 4, 2010 by Tina
It’s the first Friday in March and I am bringing to you several projects that caught my eye in the Live Pink gallery.
This layout was made by Juliana. The stitching around the edges along with the sewing along the pleated paper are amazing. What a great touch! I also think the use of the tags are great; journaling, title, and embellishments behind the pictures.
Suzanne S. is the creator of this layout featuring the Cupid line. I noticed a lot of this line used in the gallery! The little scalloped edges of the large scallop borders add some sweet details to the design. I also like how it breaks up the red and black papers. The brown and white ribbon tie everything off beautifully!
The orange polka dot paper against the black scalloped paper is so eye catching. Leigh Penner recently uploaded this Halloween layout into the Live Pink gallery. She also leaves a little touch of whimsy here and there with her use of embellishments; the stamping, the chipboard button, and the brad.
I am really looking forward to the new product arriving in the hands of our fans…just be sure to post your creations in the Live Pink gallery, we love inspiration!! New projects are being uploaded everyday so make sure to visit the gallery often. And if you love the projects you see here click on their names to visit their Live Pink pages.
Thank you for sharing your work with Live Pink gallery everyone!
Thursday Trend ~ Glimmer Mist
March 4, 2010 by Leena
One of the trends that has been a regular sight in scrapbook layouts is the use of glimmer mist. I use them a lot myself and I love how it adds a nice touch to my projects.
For today, I’ll be showing you how I used the glimmer mist on my page together with a mix of Bayberry Cottage, Queen Bee and 365 Degrees.
I first placed Cottage Bayberry Punchouts negative on the reverse side of Bees Wax paper from Queen Bee collection as a mask.
Then I sprayed across and around the negative punchouts mask with a dark colored mist. Make sure you spray enough mist to create a nice contrast against the paper.
Next, I outlined the misted shapes with a black pen. This will make the background pop up.
I completed the page using a strip of Porch Swing die cut paper, a couple Punchouts from Bayberry Cottage and 365 Degrees, Flip Notes, Ribbon Pleats, Cork Buttons and Bella Brads from Bayberry Cottage. I also did a little stamping using Expression Clear Stamp from Bayberry Cottage as well and finished the page off with Expressions Weathered Wood Scarlet chipboard alphas.
Here’s my completed layout. I just love how the glimmer mist worked so well against the background!
I think I’m going to play more with the glimmer mist with all the new products!
Have a great weekend!
Word It Wednesday - Adventure!
March 3, 2010 by Karola
Welcome to the next Word It Wednesday, Karola here!
Long thought about the word that will be my theme today Lo, it seemed that there are so many words to choose from. Ultimately it is the picture suggested to me the choice of word.
See this photo of my daughter Rose - she is 3 years old here, and the picture was taken during our trip to the ZOO. This event was a great adventure for Rose, the first time consciously met with lots of animals known to be only from pictures, because earlier, when she was younger was not interested in animals and the ZOO.
That’s why I chose special word in this LO: Adventure, which is associated not only literally an adventure, but also discovering the unknown, with courage, fun and something really amazing.
Photo is accidental like the situation - is that behind her is a peacock, and that is dressed almost like a boy - also. Believe me - this photo was waiting for his turn two years!
Only in 365 Degrees collection I found everything perfectly fit the this unique photo - she looks here like ready for everything!
The green fit to the grass, the red - blouse Rose, khaki - to her trousers, yellow fit to the sun that lightens her hair, and blue to the bottle which she holds in hand. Thanks to papers and punchouts from 365 Degrees line, I managed to dress well this picture with the colors that predominate and give some energy and playful.
Unusual arrangement was created using diecut paper - I cut them into 1 / 3 and turned - created interesting background that contained the details with colors, which I needed.
I love the idea of the flowers with pleats ribbon, and I used this again , I think these are so versatile, so, you know -  the sweet and romantic flowers did not fit here! Beautiful 365 Degrees Bella Brads, Queen Bee Cork Buttons and small accents from Expressions Glitter Alphabet (Cherry) added lightness and juiciness to the Lo.
My daughter had a real adventure in the ZOO - she run with the peacocks, chased a white rabbits and watched a lot of interesting animals - I hope she enjoyed this event and her memory will be happy as for me - create this Lo
Thank you for looking and have a great rest of the week!

Monochromatic Monday
March 1, 2010 by Jana
For my Monochromatic Monday page I decided to work with the color BLUE. I pulled papers from the 365 Degrees collection and embellishments from the Bayberry Cottage collection to work with.
I created the pleated border with Bayberry Cottage Mini Papers. I used an edge punch on the paper strips before folding them. The larger bracket border was created by cutting off the edges of the Flip Notes.
To create the journal strips, I cut the Teal Artisan Tape in half.
I wanted the Whimsies Letter Stickers to be black, so I simply colored them using a black Slick Writer Marker.
What are you working on this week?
