Monochromatic Monday with something grey

Hello everyone, Karola here with next monochromatic project.
Today I have for you something that was a good challenge for me – monochromatic combination of white, black and gray.
Always seemed to me it’s a little sad and hard combination of colors, but when you try to add a little bit of your own touch, you can create a design for every occasion. My today’s cards are exactly something like this. I think these a great fit for teenage and older people both, a little bit of elegance, but still can feel the handmade touch.
I tried to take a little from various collections – a little white, black and gray – all I could find in the Pink Paislee previous collections, because they all are very versatile.
I altered Artisan Elements in this way to fit into my project. I just love how easy is to change their look. This time I used black ink and the white glimmer mist, which gave the pearl shine. I created flowers from tissue paper – it’s very easy way, you can create such flowers in very different styles. I added some black ink and silver glitter on the top.

Take Five Friday: A Wedding Layout

Hi there :)

Ania here with another installation of Take Five Friday.
Now, I’ve had these photos printed and ready for few months – ever since I shot this brides’ (who’s a scrappy friend of mine) wedding earlier this spring – but never really felt I had the right papers for them.

Enter the collaboration of  House of 3 and Pink Paislee; Parisan Anthology. Combine it with the Sweetness-line, and hello! Perfect, just perfect!

Now, Five Friday means – use five products only. Uh right.
Mine’s: patterned papers (from both the Parisan Anthology and the beautiful Sweetness collection), Stickers (from Sweetness & Old School (the alphas)), Artisan Elements, the insanely gorgeous brooch brads and flip notes (from Sweetness).

I decided to use quite a fair bit of glimmer-mist on the background in order to get the resist-pattern to really pop out. Just spray generously around the middle (I used Jazz Blue – and I wanted to leave the edges as-is), allow it to really dry and wipe over the pattern with a slightly damp towel and a light hand, to wash away the mist that’s upon the resist-pattern.

Mm look at this baby! Gorgeous – I guess this kind of Big Bling maybe isn’t for everyone, but uh, I love it! Also, the banner created from stickers?

I had to cut the edges of it when wrapping them around the thread, and it left me with these cute mini-hearts…what am a gal to do? Use it, ofcourse! :D Also, the doily was cut out from a patterned paper from the Sweetness-line. It had lots of hearts sticking out from it, one of which I cut out and used on the edge of the paper (see the other detail-image above). I’ve got lots of these hearts left, which will be nice and cute for cards and stuff, I think! :)

Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend! :)

Wednesday’s Word Charm

Hi Creative Friends! For my Word It Wednesday Layout I chose to focus on the word CHARM. I think it is such a happy word. :) It can be a noun, a verb, or an adjective. Think about the things that truly delight you in life, whether it is a person, place or a thing . . . and then create a page about it! :)

For my page, I used the word to describe my son’s personality. He has a natural charm. Not the kind that is cheesy or ingenuine. He’s just a great kid and people love to be around him!

I used the OLD SCHOOL collection for this page, including the Elements Stickers from the collection pack. I decided to use the word literally and gave my banner a charm bracelet treatment with punched “trinkets” on each of the pennants. It was a lot of fun to do, and I love the dimension and texture it added to the page.

Thanks for coming by!
